Still no news

You know that pit-of-the-stomach feeling? The one you get when you're watching a scary movie and something really really bad is about to happen? That feeling when there's an unexpected envelope in your mailbox from the IRS?

That's the feeling I've had for a week. Not hearing either way about this job is crazy-making. I've already been told, unofficially, that it's mine. They've called my boss and one of my co-workers. So what's with the going dark?

I really, really expect to hear something today. But this delay suggests to me that I'm not going to hear what I want to hear.

Fingers tightly crossed.

How awesome is this?? Another working mom!! And you are using the color scheme I used to use! Cool! I'm going to check out some of your other posts when I get a chance. I have to work right now :(.

Good luck with the job!! I hope you hear soon!

I caved and called someone I know. She doesn't have an answer yet, so that's at least not a "no". And she promised to tell me if she knew anything. Very cool that we're both working moms.

You never know what kind of beaurocratic hoops have to be jumped through in order to hire someone sometimes, and it could be even worse when it's within the company, especially since they'll have to hire someone to replace you, as well. Be patient, little grasshopper :D

I checked my voice mail last night (I've been working early shift) and did get a message from the hiring manager. Can't tell from the message what's happening...just a very generic "call me back" message. Which is what I'd expect from such a message. So I emailed and called back and left a voice mail. And will anxiously wait by the phone. So today's the day.
